Reported by Wootten York, our special correspondent in the Vietnamese American community.
Cali Today has reported that 90% of Vietnamese Americans would vote for Bush while only 10% would vote for Kerry. On the contrary, all Vietnamese in Vietnam would vote for John Kerry. Now I have no problem to doubt the validity of the report that most of the Vietnamese in Vietnam would vote for John Kerry when a government of a totalitarian regime could get 100% votes easily (like Saddam Hussein), so "most" would be an understatement.
However, the main issue is not with the Vietnamese living in Vietnam because they have no choice, that is unless they want to go to prison for speaking their mind freely, and there are plenty of examples before of them. It is mainly an issue with Vietnamese American living in America. Some Vietnamese Americans have questioned the validity of the report and I have no idea how Cali Today got their poll, but with the way the mainstream media in America massages their polls and tweaks their words, Cali Today can't be worse than their sisters. But I think it’s easy enough to put together all the facts to let all Vietnamese Americans know who John Kerry really is and decide for themselves.
