Comrades, I love the site---even if I totally disagree in every way with your politics. As an actual communist, I'd normally correct some of your misconceptions about the theory (e.g., calling Iraq and Afghanistan "socialist" when Saddam's Ba'ath party only maintained a false pretense of socialism [does calling a dog a cat make it a cat?] and Afghanistan didn't even do that), but I'm not going to change any minds today. Your slogans are awesome; "Curing weak liberalism with strong communism" makes me laugh every time (it's something I would say!).
Does anyone else think that John Kerry AND Oliver Stone both went to Vietnam with an agenda regarding experiences they needed to warehouse for their futures? It still takes guts, but is nonetheless reprehensible. Just a thought.

too funny - quite brilliant!
Very 80s. Don't recall worrying about communism for a good 20 years now so this is really quite sweet. Nwadays I am much more worried about corporations and war hungry neocons. But thanks for the good laughs!
Kerry in 2004!

Second guessing is always easy. In the 60's and 70's the war was unpopular so Kerry said yes, I saw war crimes and what not. Build a nice name for himself along with 3 silver stars and 3 purple hearts? Was he a SEAL? He dishonored the men that served with because it was a way to move up in politics. Now he's running for president and action/military force is needed to secure this country and he's reporting for duty? The guy goes back and forth on so many issues I'm ashamed to me from Boston

Yes, second guessing is easy.
In the 70s Bush thought "My Rich Ass in Vietnam?!?!? What are you nuts? War is for the poor people!" So he used Daddy to get out of it. God, I am so ashamed to be from Texas.

How can you like a president who gets in the way of science? He is saying that we cannot have stem cell research because God tells hims????

Dan, socialism is purely the forcing of individuals to work for the good of the society. Bathists did just that, so did the Taliban. Even the United States has always been partially socialist in that landowners were taxed to provide money for govenment.
True Capitalism can only exist in a complete anarchy, as in no state to get in the way of fair trading between people and/or entities.

Anonymous comrade, I'm afraid I have to disagree. Socialism is the bastard marriage of communism and capitalism: the working class has begun to take control of the means of production and distribution, but has not completed the process. The United States' economy is characterized as "mixed," insofar as we have some policies that might be called socialist---taxation, Medicare, etc.---and many that might be called capitalist---private ownership of the means of production and distribution, etc.
relax, people. both sides are about equally as incompetent and corrupt. democracy is just the only available tool for trying to restrict their corruption.

I hold no grudge against Bush for not going to Vietnam. I hold no grudge against Kerry for protesting it once he returned. However you do not turn you back on your brothers to further yourself. If you serve with someone in combat that person is closer to you than even a family member. He's seen and done things with you you could never explain to anyone else. That exposes Kerry's moral fiber. He turned his back on his friends and fellow vets. People he knew. People he served with. He doesn't know any of us. Do you really think he's got our backs? Get a clue.

President Bush is correct in pursuing this war in Afganistan, Pakistan and Iraq. Our forces are engaging Al Quida fighters in all three locations. Occupying their efforts toward staying alive rather than attacking the United States here. Should we discontinue this war abroad, where do you think those terrorists would focus their efforts? Personally, I preferr this war be fought in Najaf, Falluja, Anbar Province where Al Zaqui is keeping busy beheading innocent people and Afganistan and Packistan where other remanents of Al Quida are busy trying to stay alive. The alternative is to fight them on their own terms, here in America. Perhaps I'm just being selfish, not wishing to be blown up by religeous fanatics, but I don't think so. Maybe those who disagree with this war over there would care to volunteer their back yards, homes and loved ones for a domestic continuance of this war?????
