 | The blind leading the blind, AM New York, a truly venerable publication read by only the brightest minds, talks about Fox News' machinations to put down our Komsomolets Rob (PDF): In another online gaffe for the network [Fox News], political reporter Jane Roh filed an [sic] report about a parody group called "Communists For Kerry." It ran as a news story and failed to mention that the group was actually pro-Bush. Later, Roh claimed that she was fooled by "Communists For Kerry." But Deppa said that even if her excuse is true, being so ready to believe the pranksters could be a sign of Roh's own biases. | ~ It happened on the warm quiet night of the first presidential debates (9/30). Our Communists For Kerry group came to the debate-watching party at the San Marcos bar (12 St.Marks Place) in Manhattan to express our support for Comrade Kerry. Komsomolets Rob, Mascot of the Revolution, re-educating workers and peasants of New York. (8/14/ 04, Union Square) | Komsomolets Rob, Mascot of the Revolution, was sitting outside due to his young age and entertained himself by distributing propaganda and answering questions with a straight face. There were a dozen reporters and TV crews at the place, including one Japanese network. So when another young female reporter asked Rob about his affiliation, he restated the Party agenda in clear and unambiguous terms. Rob thought she represented yet another college newspaper. Her name was Jane Roh. Later that night, still dressed as Communists For Kerry, we stumbled into a few Kerry supporters at a bar in East Village. They took us for real communists and were excited that we supported their candidate. One of them was the owner of the establishment (we are not mentioning its name and location out of charity). He sported a Kerry pin and was considering donating part of that night's profit to Kerry's campaign. They cheered when we told them in our Russian accent of our plan to bring down American system by infiltrating schools, media, and cultural institutions, re-educating the masses and conditioning them for the revolution. They agreed that the masses were ready for it and that Kerry's victory would be an equivalent of the Communist Revolution in Russia. They told us that most Americans are stupid and uneducated, which explained why Kerry was trailing in the polls. We readily agreed and assured them that they were the smartest bunch of Americans we had met so far in this country. Three days later, Fox News published a story by Jane Roh on its website. It described the bar, the party, the participants, and also mentioned Rob: Of course, there were some Kerry supporters in attendance who had no doubts whatever about their candidate. "We're trying to get Comrade Kerry elected and get that capitalist enabler George Bush out of office," said 17-year-old Komoselutes Rob of Communists for Kerry. "Even though he, too, is a capitalist, he supports my socialist values more than President Bush," Rob said, before assuring FOXNews.com that his organization was not a parody group. When asked his thoughts on Washington 's policy toward Communist holdout North Korea , Rob said: "The North Koreans are my comrades to a point, and I'm sure they support Comrade Kerry, too." It is unclear whether the Kerry campaign has welcomed the Communists' endorsement. | The next morning, AM New York issued a passionate diatribe against Fox News for publishing Cameron's joke and writing about Communists For Kerry without saying who we really were. What AM New York itself fails to mention is that exactly the same gaffe had been committed by the Washington Post one month earlier. For two months now we'd been trying to dupe the capitalist media into writing about us and thus open a door for us to cure their weak liberalism with our strong communism. And yes, we got results! But before the Fox News story, the Washington Post's staff writers covering the anti-Bush protest during the Republican Convention in New York described us in all seriousness as a "four-member 'Communists for Kerry' contingent, whose placards advocated a 'France First!' foreign policy." They lied, of course. There were at least a dozen of us at that march. (See 8/30/04 Washington Post , Page A01, article titled 200,000 in N.Y. Protest Bush By Michael Powell and Dale Russakoff, Washington Post staff writers. ) Communists For Kerry at the anti-Republican protest near Madison Square Garden, New York (8/29/ 04) | The Washington Post staff writers also failed to see that we were a parody group. They didn't figure it from our posters nor our costumes and pointy hats with stars on them, nor from the Party-approved slogans blaring out of the Revolutionary Megaphone of Truth (see picture). For reasons we fail to comprehend, AM New York did not cover this "gaffe" by the Washington Post. Even if the Washington Post staff writers claim that they were fooled by "Communists For Kerry," and even if their excuse is true (assuming that it is not), being so ready to believe the pranksters could be a sign of their own biases. They knew very well that the anti-Republican protest they covered so affectionately had been organized by real communist front groups. The fact that Michael Powell and Dale Russakof had not been fired raises some questions. We are also baffled by the fact that neither AM New York, nor Joan Deppa, a professor and media ethicist at Syracuse University whom AM New York quotes heavily, came hard on Washington Post for misrepresenting a comedy group, but are willing to destroy a young and inexperienced Fox News reporter (who also happens to be a pretty Asian girl) for exactly the same thing. In vain did we wait for the leftist bloggers and the big media to grill the Washington Post for their lack of investigative reporting, fact-checking and bias. It did not happen! Then, a month later, a Fox News reporter accidentally stumbles over our Komsomolets Rob (no posters, no costumes, no megaphones) and she takes him for real. Immediately, the left hemisphere of the American blogosphere reacted in a manner reminiscent of Genghis Khan-trained Pavlovian dogs! Their outrage is recorded here: One thing we still don't understand is this: if we as communists want to bring down all capitalist media outlets, how come all the attacks are focused on Fox News only - and none on the Washington Post? Is the WaPo not a capitalist media outlet? Apparently not! Looks like the very media we're out to destroy is working on our side! Perhaps we have to rethink our strategy. One other thing that the left-conditioned bloggers and posters indignantly point out, is that the Fox News story is intentionally misleading because allegedly the official Communist Party of America CPUSA does not endorse Kerry. Let us just add some nuance here. We all know that the official Communist Party of America, CPUSA, has voted for Kerry before they voted against him. They endorsed him when Kerry was courting the radical left voters, and have recently posted a denial of their endorsement so that comrade Kerry could collect votes of the moderates. This move, quite possibly coordinated with the DNC, shows perfect strategy and consistency on part of the both: we can give the word and we can take it back - we are the masters of the word! But since we, Communists For Kerry, are not affiliated with CPUSA we can continue to support Comrade Kerry right until he takes over the Red House! The fact that this very story we're writing is happening, proves that the communist effort to re-educate the masses and condition them for the revolution has been successful! Let's hear what Rob has to say about this: Komsomolets Rob | I spoke to the Captialist swine of a reporter and she twisted the words of the Revolution!! To the Gulag for her. To all these Liberals and Conservatives who are trying to give a bad name to Communists For Kerry, TO THE GULAG!!! GO STRAIGHT TO GULAG. DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT "GET OUT OF GULAG FREE CARD". | Yes, we admit, it is our plan to spread chaos and panic among the news organizations and bring them down, as a necessary step towards the media revolution. Next we'll confiscate the resources of Fox News and turn them over to the People represented by the NPR, PBS, CBS, Washington Post, New York Times, Al-Jazeera and others, and then consolidate them into a world-wide Centralized News Network (CNN). Unfortunately, as it is evident here, most journalists think we are a joke. As our regular poster Comrade Otis eloquently put it, this is only another example of reactionary propaganda of capital. They wish to cleverly and hypocritically dismiss the Web Site of the Masses - www.CommunistsForKerry.com - as nothing more than a harmless humor site. Come the revolution these lackey running dogs of capitalist warmongering will all be packed into cattle cars and be laughing all the way north.
